Managed IT module
Microsoft 365 Management
Your Microsoft 365 accounts, access and security settings kept in order by one accountable team.
In short
What Microsoft 365 management is
SureTel Microsoft 365 management is an add-on to Managed IT for businesses that run on Microsoft 365. SureTel administers your tenant — staff accounts, licence assignment, mailboxes, sharing and the security settings your licences include — at a Basic, Advanced or Complete level. Microsoft licences are billed separately from the service.
What it covers
Day-to-day tenant administration
Joiners, movers and leavers
Creating, changing and closing staff accounts so access matches who works for you.
Licence administration
Assigning and removing licences in the tenant. The licences themselves are billed separately.
Mailboxes, groups and sharing
Shared mailboxes, distribution lists, Teams and sharing settings kept tidy.
Sign-in and security settings
Multi-factor authentication and other security settings your licences entitle you to, configured and maintained.
Tenant housekeeping
Regular review of admin roles, stale accounts and settings that drift over time.
User support
Everyday Microsoft 365 questions and problems handled as part of your support.
Basic, Advanced and Complete differ in depth. The inclusions of your chosen level are set out in your proposal.
Scope
What's in and out of scope
- Normally covers all active staff accounts in the tenant; shared, service and other special accounts are agreed at onboarding
- Security features are only available where your Microsoft licences include them
- Migrations, new tenant deployments and major clean-ups are scoped as separate projects
- Management is not backup — keeping a separate copy of your data is the Managed Backup module
- Support is Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00, excluding South African public holidays
Need a separate copy of your data? See Managed Backup.
Licence vs service
Your licence and our management are different things
| Microsoft 365 licence | SureTel management | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Microsoft's subscription to use Microsoft 365 apps and features | SureTel's work administering and looking after your tenant |
| Who provides it | Microsoft — supplied by SureTel or another reseller | SureTel |
| What it decides | Which features and security tools you are entitled to | How those features are set up and kept in order |
| How it's billed | Per licence, at Microsoft-based pricing | Per account, as a module on top of Managed IT |
SureTel can supply licences through its Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider arrangement, or manage licences you already have.
Who it suits
A good fit if…
- Businesses already on Microsoft 365 with no one clearly in charge of it
- Teams where staff join and leave regularly
- Owners unsure whether MFA and other protections are actually switched on
- Managed IT customers who want their tenant looked after by the same team

FAQs
Microsoft 365 management questions
What is Microsoft 365 management?
It is SureTel looking after the administration of your Microsoft 365 tenant: staff accounts, licence assignment, mailboxes, sharing and the security settings your licences allow. It is an add-on module to SureTel Managed IT.
Are Microsoft 365 licences included?
No. Licences are billed separately. SureTel can supply them or work with licences you already have; the management service is priced on top.
What is the difference between Basic, Advanced and Complete?
The three levels differ in how much administration and security configuration SureTel takes on. The exact inclusions and price of each level are set out in your proposal after the assessment.
Does it cover every account in our tenant?
Normally it covers all active staff accounts. Shared mailboxes, service accounts and other special accounts are agreed and documented at onboarding.
Will SureTel migrate us to Microsoft 365?
Migrations and initial deployments are scoped and quoted as separate projects. Ongoing management starts once the tenant is in place.
Does Microsoft 365 management back up our email and files?
No. Management keeps the tenant in order but is not a backup. A separate copy of your data is provided by the Managed Backup module.
Is this a 24/7 service?
No. Support runs Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, excluding South African public holidays. It does not include staffed 24/7 security monitoring.
