In short
What SureTel cyber security covers
SureTel protects small and medium businesses in Gauteng with SentinelOne endpoint detection and response, patching and vulnerability management as part of Managed IT. Microsoft 365 security, backup and firewall management are added as quoted modules. It is practical risk reduction during business hours — not a staffed 24/7 security operations centre — and it starts with a free IT Health & Risk Assessment.
What SureTel does
Six layers of practical protection
SentinelOne EDR on every managed endpoint
Endpoint detection and response on each managed user's primary device, included in Managed IT from R500 per managed user/month excl. VAT. Device-isolation authority is agreed at onboarding.
Managed ITPatching and vulnerability management
Operating-system and software patching with software vulnerability management, part of the Managed IT base service.
What Managed IT includesMicrosoft 365 security settings
Licence-entitled security settings, accounts and sharing administered through the Microsoft 365 management module. Licences are separate.
Microsoft 365 managementMicrosoft 365 backup
A separate, monitored copy of your Microsoft 365 mail and files. Backup lets you restore data; it is not disaster recovery.
Managed backupManaged firewall

Honest limits
What this service is not
- No staffed 24/7 security operations centre (SOC) or managed detection and response team. EDR can act on its own, but that is not people watching around the clock.
- Suspected security incidents are treated as P1: initial response within 60 minutes during contracted support hours — a response target, not a guaranteed fix time.
- Major incident response, investigation and forensics are scoped and quoted separately.
- Penetration testing and other advanced security work are quoted separately; the free assessment is not a penetration test.
- No business can be made “unhackable”, and SureTel does not claim to. The aim is to reduce risk and recover faster.

FAQs
Cyber security questions
What cyber security services does SureTel provide?
SentinelOne EDR, patching and software vulnerability management are part of Managed IT, from R500 per managed user/month excl. VAT. Microsoft 365 security settings, Microsoft 365 backup and firewall management are added as separately quoted modules. Most businesses start with the free IT Health & Risk Assessment.
Is endpoint protection included in Managed IT?
Yes. SentinelOne EDR is included for one primary laptop or desktop per managed user, in Managed IT from R500 per managed user/month excl. VAT on a 12-month agreement, with a normal minimum of R7,500 per month.
Do you provide a 24/7 security operations centre?
No. There is no staffed 24/7 security operations centre or after-hours SLA in the base service. Support runs Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, excluding South African public holidays.
What happens if we have a security incident?
Log it as critical: SureTel's P1 target is initial response within 60 minutes during contracted support hours. EDR can isolate affected devices under the authority agreed at onboarding. Major incident response and forensics are scoped separately.
Can you guarantee we won't be hacked?
No one can. The controls on this page reduce risk and help you recover, but no business is unhackable.
Is backup enough to recover from ransomware?
Backup lets you restore lost or encrypted data, but it is not disaster recovery. Restore testing follows the schedule you purchase, and recovering whole systems is scoped separately.
Do you do penetration testing?
Not as part of the base service or the free assessment. Penetration testing and other advanced security work are quoted separately.
Where should a small business start?
