Pricing details

What sits in a Cloud PBX monthly cost

Each layer is priced separately so you only pay for what you select. The stack below shows the components that make up a typical Cloud PBX monthly figure.

  1. 1. Base extension tier

R60 → R40 per extension/month excl. VAT, based on total extension count.

  2. 2. Optional recording

R9 → R42 per extension/month excl. VAT, by retention period (1–5 years). None if not required.

  3. 3. Optional mobile app

R20 per extension/month excl. VAT, only on extensions that need it.

  4. 4. Optional DIDs

R10 per DID/month excl. VAT, only where a direct number is required.

  5. 5. Once-off porting (if applicable)

R40 once-off per eligible number; not a monthly cost.

  6. Quoted separately

Calls and minute bundles, handsets, network access, installation and hardware are quoted separately and are not part of the extension price.

Diagram: monthly extension cost + optional add-ons make up the indicative monthly subtotal; eligible number porting is a separate once-off line.

Calls, minute bundles, handsets, network access, installation and hardware are quoted separately where relevant and are not included in the extension price.

Use cases

How South African businesses size Cloud PBX

  • Small office

Extension count and any required mobile app or DIDs determine the recurring cost.

  • Growing SME

The tier drops as users grow; recording and mobile app costs apply only where selected.

  • Multi-branch rollout

Extension count, app users, DIDs and site-specific requirements shape the quote.

  • Remote-first team

Per-extension pricing fits distributed users; mobile app extensions are sized to need.

  • Replacing an ageing PBX

Add eligible porting per number to keep existing numbers when changing systems.

  • High-volume calling

Pair extension pricing with a minute bundle from R300/month for predictable spend.

Cloud PBX, onsite PBX and SIP trunking are not universally better than one another — the right choice depends on your business requirements.

How the pricing model works

Why Cloud PBX totals are built from separate components

A Cloud PBX quote combines a base extension tier with the optional services and calling model that apply to the business. This keeps the public pricing transparent: the user count drives the extension rate, selected add-ons change recurring charges, and eligible number porting is shown as a separate once-off item.

What is an extension?

An extension is an individual Cloud PBX user or configured endpoint in the selected solution.

Why do per-extension prices change by tier?

The published rate is lower at higher extension counts; the applicable tier is confirmed in the quote.

Why are calls separate from extension pricing?

Calling costs depend on use, destinations and whether a minute bundle is selected.

Why are DIDs optional?

A DID is added where the business needs a direct number.

Why is porting a once-off charge?

The published R40 fee applies per eligible number transferred through the porting process.
